The wild Fragaria nilgerrensis Schltdl in Qinling Mountains is a wild ground cover plant with long stolons. In order to study its characteristics of turf quality and popularization value , Trifolium repens L. and Oxalis corymbosa DC.were used as chontrol, three years’ of experiment was conducted to observe and evaluate the landscaping of wild Fragaria nilgerrensis in Qinling Mountains,which included the turf characteristics (coverage, uniformity, leaf color, inflorescence color, beauty of inflorescence), adaptability (days of maturity, green period, disease resistance, insect resistance, overwintering rate, oversummering rate),and turf comprehensive quality.The results showed that all the three plants could grow well and form ornamental turf in Guanzhong Plain, the coverage and uniformity of Fragaria Nilgerrensis Schltdl were the best, Trifolium repens L. was the second, Oxalis corymbosa DC. was the worst. The green period of Trifolium repens L. was the longest of 303 days, the green period of Fragaria nilgerrensis Schltdl was 268 days, the green period of Oxalis corymbosa DC. was 248 days. The comprehensive evaluation result of turf quality was Trifolium repens L. > Fragaria nilgerrensis Schltdl>Oxalis corymbosa DC.. The results showed that the wild Fragaria nilgerrensis Schltdl could be used as a new ornamental turf grass, which had high lawn value and strong adaptability in Guanzhong plain and its similar climate area. ; |
